Our Cairn Terriers are sensible, confident, and friendly with everyone they meet. They adapt quickly to new circumstances, making themselves at home with any family.  One look at our alert, bright eyed, intelligent Cairn Terriers, and you will fall in love with their "head, tail, and ears up" demeanor.  Game for anything, Cairn Terriers remain active into their teens and play well with children.

A word of caution, true to their heritage of fearless tenacity, a Cairn Terrier can get into trouble if his master is irresponsible.

Cairn Terriers come in a variety of attractive colors, but predicting adult coat can be difficult because the puppies typically darken as they grow older.  Average weight is 12 to 14 pounds and height is 9 to 10 inches, the perfect size for easy handling by adults and a great playmate for children.  All the while, Cairn Terriers remains sturdy and active enough to be enjoyed with any lifestyle.

Each Cairn Terrier has a unique and developed personality.  One characteristic that remains the same, however, is that all Cairn Terriers enjoy being somewhat independent.  While they love human contact, they do not stay in a lap for long, tending to be lively and active.
