The Silky is classified as a toy terrier with a fine coat which naturally parts down the middle. Silkies do not shed and they are non-allergenic.  Their joy of life and inquisitive nature make each one an endearing companion, thus the name for my kennel, Tuki Terriers, meaning joyous happy companion.

Silky coloring is generally blue with a deep, rich tan, but may also be silver blue or slate blue. They are strong and free moving, with a lively forward motion.  The appearance is of a keenly alert and sociable terrier, friendly and responsive to anyone they meet.

Silkies are wonderful pets as they have the terrier tenacity for play and fun, while being very tolerant and loving towards children.  They were bred for apartment size dwellings, but adapt well to all kinds of lifestyles.  They require only lots of love, a little food and water, and in return they will take good care of their master.
